FIRE AT ROTORUA.
RAILWAY SHED BURNED. TWO LOCOMOTIVES DESTROYED. (By Teleirapii._pres« Anodatlaoj ROTORUA, this day. A disastrous fire occurred at three o'clock this morning at the railway enjgine shed, resulting in the total destruction of the shed and the partial destruction of two locomotives. - ?^ c given by the railway engine cleaner, who saw a glare of fire through the window of the sleeping apartment. Ihe shed was then in full blaze, and I there was no hope of saving anything. I Train traffic here is delayed, both for goods and passengers. "The stationmaster is endeavouring to get an engine in order to get the mails and passengers away. LATER. .A special engine arrived here from Franktcn Junction at 11.30 a.m., and 'eft for Auckland at 12.20, taking passengers. This train connects .with all others on the line, branch trains having been delayed. Two engines which were in the shed are considerably damaged, and will be unfit for use until they have been taken to pieces, as many of their parts are twisted. The engine shed being roofed with ruberoid increased the intensity of the heat.
