IMMIGRATION RESTRICTION.
Australian Policy Condemned. LONDON, October 21. The "Manchester Guardian," referring to Mr. Deakin's statement on the Restriction Act, says that since Japan, under the new treaty, may fight for the defence of Australia, she has additional grounds of discontent at Australia's attitude. From the British point of viewy however, the disabilities placed by the colonies on our Indian subjects touch our self-respect more closely than the disabilities of an allied but alien nation.
