Victoria Rifles challenged the rest of the No. 1 Battalion (Countess otRanfnrlyVs Own) to a friendly match. In which the Victorias pitted themselves > against the best the other companies coiiw. prodnce. The match came off on Saturday at Penrose, the conditions' being 7 shots at 200 and 500 yards, w&h one signer (not to count), the original conditions bcina; superseded owing to the shortness <Jt tlie ■ avaUable time. The match, which was fired in splendid weather, resulted In a good win for the Victorias by 55 points, tl*e aggregate scores being 876 points to S2l points.
