BOXING.
The Northern Boxing Association has received its registration papers from headquarters, and the club is now fairly started. The management Is a strong one, and amongst the various officials are gentlemen occupying prpminent positions in the town. It is the intention of the association to hold contests for 0 amateurs only at an early date, when the wrestling championships'will also be decided, arid an effort is to be made to secure either the Opera House or His Majesty's Thea-T tre for the holding of such "contests. Sir. R. A. Keenan has' been selected secretary, and he wishes intending competitors to particularly note that the Northern Boxing Association has no connection in any shape or form with the Auckland Boxing Association, who are under entirely different management..
