THE GOLDFIELDS.
SHAREMARKET. Bank of New Zealand shares showed a io^ er . adv ance to-day, buyers offering LJ4/6, without sellers quoting. Thames Gas firmed up to 35/ buyers, other standard stocks being inquired for at late rates. K.T.C. contributing shares sold at 4/1, and Northern Coals (7/6 paid up) at 12/, with further buyers of the latter at the same price. In mining shares there were few changes, and the only upward move was in Tairua Broken Hills, which sold up to 1/10. Talismans changed hands at 15/, and Waihi Exendeds at 4/10, while May Queens again sold and were wanted at 3/1. There seemed more disposition to buy Waiotahi shares this morning, several lines changing hands at 68/. Golden Belts were a shade easier, contributing selling at 2/7, while 3/3 was the best offer for paid-up issues.
