The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency have received the following cable from their London house:—'•The wool sales opened strong, and, as compared with the last sale's closing rates, prices were for fine crossbreds, medium crossbreds, and merinos about 5 per cent higher. For coarse crossbreds from about 5 to 7* per cent, higher. Competition was active." Messrs A. S. Paterson and Co. have received a cablegram this morning advising that the above sales, which commenced yesterday, opened at an average advance ef 5 per cent, for all qualities. SYDNEY WOOL SALES.
