Civilians v. Volunteers. —The match resulted in a. win for the Volunteers by. .6: points to 4. For the winners Davey aba S. Brown scored tries, and S. McDonald potted a goal for the losers. Mr B. Wrathall was referee. GISBOBHE. Teams representing the Napier and Gis-. borne District- Schools played a match on Saturday, which was won by the Gisborne team by 15 points to nil. WAIHI V. KARANGAHAKE. The match between Waihi and Karangahake was played at Mackytown on Saturday. Waihi winning by 11 points to 4. A match was plyayed at Paeroa between s team of wheelwrights, blacltemiths. and mill hands and a team of all-comers, the latter winning by 16 points to 6. POVERTY BAY V. HAWXE'S BAY. Poverty Bay won by 9 points to 6. For the winners Sherrett. Sharp, and Rowe scored tries, and for Hawke's Bay, Mnnroe scored a try aud McKay kicked a penalty £oal. SOUTHERN MATCHES. WELLINGTON V. OTAGO. The match between Wellington and Otago was played at Dnnedin on Saturday in wretched weather. The game, which was witnessed by about 4000 spectators, resulted In a draw, neither side scoring.
