LIBERALS AND HOME RULE.

A Motion of Challenge. (Received 7.24 a.m.) LONDON, April 13. Mr. Charles Tuff (Conservative) moved in the House of Commons that, in view of the Opposition leaders' conflicting statements, it was expedient that Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman should give an explicit declaration for Home Rule. Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman declined to satisfy such a preposterous demand. The Liberas would continue the struggle in the cause of the good Government of Ireland as time and circumstances allowed. Mr. John Redmond said that the Nationalists occupied the same ground as did Parnell in 188 G.

Mr. Balfour said that if the Opposition lecured a majority the Nationalists might whistle for Home Rule.
