PEUIT AND PRODUCE MARKETS.

The local fruit and produce markets have been well supplied throughout the piist week. Potatoes have declined consiuerabiy in price owing to the steady and increased shipments from the South. Uuious were a shade firmer, and at present Ibe market is lightly supplied. In dairy produce there was a most noticeable falling oil in the supplies of farmers' butter owing to the prevailing dry weather, and the output of numerous dairies Is at present too small to scud to the local market. Eggs were in very short supply, and brought high prices at auction. The fruit market was well supplied during the week. Prices throughout were lower than last week, and the demand for apples was unusually slack, excepting where siue, quality, and appeuriuiee were obtainable.
