THE WELLINGTON ELECTION.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHUECH, this day. Mr. Massey sums up the Wellington election as follows: "If Mr. Hutchesou I had kept his mouth shut he. would have ' I been a member for Wellington City to- I ! day. Mr. Massey also expresses the j opinion that the big "silent vote" in Wei- i lington which had been so much talked ! about had literally earned its designa- i tion, and that it had not only been ' silent, but had refrained from voting altogether.
