A WOMAN'S DEATH
A QUESTION OF DAYS. (By Telesrauh.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., this day. At the inquest on Sophia Elderkin, who died on the 9th inst., the medical evidence was to the effect death resulted from ulceration ' of the stomacli and septic peritonitis, the end being hastened by a fall, but irrespective of that death would have occurred within three or four days from the effects of ulcer. Both deceased and Saunders were it was alleged under the influence of liquor at the time of.the occurrence. Saunders was before the Court again this morning on a charge of assault whereby death was caused, and'was remanded for a week.. On the application of the police heavy bail was ordered.
