WESTPORT. this day.
Very pronounced dissatisfaction is expressed in Scddonville 'at the small amount of coal being mined at the State coal mine. A correspondent of the "News" writes: "We put in five shifts last fortnight and one this, drawing for the last fortnight 10/." There are many complaints that the mine is not receiving that attention that the quality of til* coal warrants.

An elderly man names Thos. Sleeman was found dead in his room at the Albion Hotel. Deceased was formerly engaged horse training, and had been living in this district for many years. CHBJSTCHURCH, this day. The Acclimatisation Society has resolved to inquire regarding the possibility of importing Australian jackals to Cauterburv.
