SMJSSIANB K.EPORT CAPTUKES. PKOSABLY ONLY TEMPORAKY. (Received 7.27 a.m.) LONDON, October 18. General SaMiaroff reports that Mo-ekesidorff stormed and recaptured Xionely Tree Hill, three miles to the east-ward of the railway. Tie river Slia, -u-hieli lias been playing- such, an important part in tiie fitynTri-ng laoveiuesit, runs at the base of this hill. Many Japanese were bayoneted in the trenches, losing eleven field pieces and quick-firing guns. Since, however, Field-Marshal Oyama has omitted to mention these losses, and has declared that all counter-attacks were successfully repulsed, doubt is expressed with, regard to any pennaneat capture by the Russians. It is suggested that possibly the guns were temporarily captured, and later on retaken by the Japanese.
