The Slarton Jockey Clubs Spring Meeting was well attended, and good fields were got together in most of the events. Tie course was very heavy, and always will be in wet weataer. The starting of Mr Saywell was not altogether satisfactory on either day, and results in several instances were dv« to uneven dismissals. On the first day the Sylvia Park mare Delamere won the Flying by several lengths from Firelight. U-ood Hope was quite ten lengths ahead of Delight in the Trial Han dicap Hurdles, Peruvian leading the tp l of a strong - out field. Tau-hau, - - aged daughter of Flinders, on whom Jenkins had the mount, got an initial advantage, and this easily settled the chances of seventeen others in the Trial Stakes, of wnich Confide and St. Ludlow proved the best.
