HOCKEY.
AUCKLAND V. POVERTY BAY. The representative hockey match between the Poverty Bay and Auckland teams was played at Remuera to-day in the presence of a large number of people, and as the weather was fine, a very enjoyable afternoon's sport was promised. At the time of writing there was every indication that the game was going to prove very interesting. The following are the teams. Poverty Bay: Goal, Roderick; backs. Doyle and Sargesson; halves, Evans, Garrett, and Wilson; forwards, Johnston, Bright, Sharpe (captain), Sheriff and McClure. Auckland: Goal, Dr. Neill (College Rifles); fullbacks, D. Hill (Auckland), W. Allen (Auckland); halfbacks, Sherriffs (United), W. Broadfoot (Auckland), A. Brown (Un : ted); wings, W. Brooksmith (Auckland), J. Lepine (Auckland); forwards, Mason (Auckland), Barry (United), and Miller (University).
