Notice is hereby given that the Body Corporate of the Mayor. Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Devonport, under the name of the Devonport Borough Council, propose to raise a Special Loan of £17,250 und°r the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901, for the following undertakings and works, viz.:— UNDERTAKINGS AND WORKS. 1. £14.400 with which to provide and construct additional pumping plant, machinery, mains, plant, and materials to the existing waterworks scheme, waterworks site, machinery, mains, and plant, and to do all necessary work in connection therewith or incident thereto. 2. £1000 with which to complete the drainage of Stanley Point, within the Borough of Devonport, part of the drainage scheme of the Borough, by the providing and constructing of the necessary works, mains, plant, and materials In connection therewith or Incident thereto. 3. Plans and specifications of the foregoing undertakings and works, prepared by Mr 11. H. Metcalfe. Engineer, are lying at the Borough Council's Office, Devonport. for tb/- inspection of ratepayers during office hours. 4. £SoO with which to purchase a Stonecrusher. 5. £1000 with which to construct a Retaining Wall along the foreshore of the Borongh. 6. Details and particulars of the undertakings and works numbered Fonr and Five are lying at the Borough Council's Office, Devonport, for the inspection of ratepayers during office hours. 7. To pay any preliminary expenses incurred in connection with the scheme for which the loan is proposed' to be raised. SECURITY. S. A Special Rate of Id In the £ on the Unimproved Value of all Ratable Properties of the Borough, such Special Rate being an aimual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, payable half-yearly on the first day of January and the ttrst day of July until the loan is fully, paid off. PROVISION FOR REPAYMENT. 0. To pledge for the repayment of such loan and the interest thereou (subject to current debentures representing £42,500) tbe Waterworks Site ana Pumping Plant and Machinery situate at Takapuna, near Devonport, together with the additional work plant and machinery and other appliances mentioned in Paragraph One, and profit from supplying water. 10. It is proposed to pay out of the Loan the cost of raising the Loan and the interest for the iirst year. 11. Loan repayable m 20 years. Interest at not exceeding 4J per cent, per annum. 12. A sinking fund to. produce £100 per annum.
