She left Wellington on Wednesday night, and after a rough passage got within 40 miles of Wang* nni, but was compelled to put back. »»| sighted the Surprise, which was flying signals of distress, but the weather was • too rough to render any assistance. Locaj shipmasters fear the Surprise will go w pieces, as the weather is very rougn, and the waves are beating over her.
