FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKETS. The local fruit and produce markets have not been brisk during the past wek. The low prices recently ruling for apples had the result or smaller shipments bPing spilt from T_»_an_, and accordingly prices advanced considerably. Poultry were in shorter supply tha.n last week, and prices were maintained, the demand bein» strong. E?gs were in supply at about equal to last week, but prices declined. Tie following were the ruling prices at the auctkra sales to-day:— Field Produce.—Potatoes: Waikato, Hobarts £2 too; Southern table. £2 15/; Southern and Wailcato, seed and wbite varieties £1 10/ and upwards' (nominal); new kidney, lid to ljd lb; onions, Victorian, 6/ to 1/1 cwt.
