STATE COAL MINES.
(By Tetegrapk.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The balance-sheet of the State coal mines for the year ended March 31, 1904, shows that the receipts amounted to £09,898. The credit side of the account is balanced by a sum of £1338 cash in hand. The principal items in the expenditure were wages. The total expenditure on the Point Elizabeth railway amounted to £23,219; Point Elizabeth colliery, £22.706; and the Seddonville colliery, £17,708. The coal sale from the latter mine brought in £ 1800. The sum of £2072 was paid in debenture interest during the year. j
