It was resolved to form a road ' past Mr Napier's farm, while with regard ; to Messrs Jay, Tatton, and Speedy's inti- • matiou, that a culrert had carried away ■ near their places, it was decided not to do ' anything until the road deviations were ' settled. Mr Shepherd reported having gone ■ over some or the loads on which loan - money is to be expended, in company with > Mr Mandeno, and they considered that it r would be advisable to replace the Black- ' water and Rotokauri bridges with totara 5 structures, instead of concrete culverts. It ■ was decided to adopt Mr Mandeno's terms . for plans and supervision, and that his plans for bridges be prepared as soon as ' possible, and to strike a general rate f of three-farthiugs in the £.
