22/6." The annual exhibition of ptipils of Mrs. and Miss Howden took place in the Oddfellows' Hall, Parnell, on Saturday afternoon last. The programme was iendered with taste, and showed that the pupils had received careful training. Pianoforte solos were rendered by the Miases Moore, Gough, Nairn, Bridgman and J. Moore, also Messrs. iGsby and Master B. Harvey. Especially appreciated among these were "Valse," op. 42, by Miss Renie Moore, whose execution and technique was worthily praised; "'Faust," excellently played by Miss Hazel Nairn; also "Fantasie," by Mr. R. Gisby. Violin solos by the Misses Olive and E. Pickel, and piiinoforte duets were successfully given by Misses Howden and Nairn, Hazel and Master Roy' Clemens, Elsie and Master Willie Perry, and the Misses Cowan. A vocal solo by Miss Killip, with chorus in tableau form representing the na tions w.ai ■> much, appreciated, Th« characters were represented by Mdssas Killip and E. .Perry (America), Misses Parker and Elsie Cowan (France), Missies Moore and E. Pikel (England), Misses Bluett amd J. Moore (Ireland) Misses Nairn and Lela Bridgmaji (Scotland).
