TE PUKE REEFS. (By Telegraph.--Own Correspondent.) : - WAIHI, this day. With reference to the Te Puke Gold Reefs Co.'s mine, recent important developments have caused quite a flutter among the local shareholders on receipt of the news that rich stone had been struck by prospectors on the 200 ft leveL Mr BL E. Partridge, of Auckland, passed through Waihi yesterday afternoon on the way to Te Puke, and during his stay here engaged four experienced miners, then left in. conipany with Mr Worth, of Waihi, who was the mine manager up to recently. Latterly prospectors have been at work with the result that rich stone was struck. The company is now to resume operations, and at present men are driving on the reef at the 200 ft level, where the valuable ore was met with. About 250 ft south had been driven on this lode altogether. The property:' comprises some 10S0 acres. MINE MANAGER'S REPORT. Waihi Extended.—The drive has been advanced 20ft along the boundary of the Waihi Extended Company's mine, with tne • object of intersecting the reef. Komata Reefs.—An important piece of work is now proceeding at the Komata Reefs property, namely, the extension of the main low level, to get to the Te-ao-Marama section that was acquired from the Waltekaurl Company some time ago. Only about 200 ft more of driving Is recpiii;ed to connect the two properties. In the upper levels most of the b°st ore Is won from the Te-ao-Marama. section, where theNos. 1 and 2 reefs are being opened upon. Here five levels are in operation, the Smithy and No. 2 levels being in nearly 800 ft norti of the shaft.
