("Before Mr I. Alexander, J.P., and Mr A. C. Atkin, J.P.) A Worthless Character.—Jamea Roach was prosecuted by Chief-Detec-tive Grace for being an idle and disorderly person, baring insufficient means of support, and also with consorting with prostitutes. He denied the latter charge, but pleaded guilty to the first, for which he was sentenced to a month's hard labour. Three detectives stated, in connection with the other charge, that Roach lived upon hi= wife's immorality. "You have a bad record, and /ou ought to be ashamed of vourseif,*' severely remarked the presiding magistrate, who sentenced Roach to an additional two months' imprisonment. Law-breaking Drivers.—Arthur Waiters and Martin O'Brian were lined 5/ each and costs for driving around corners at greater than a walking pace, '.\hile similar fines were imposed upon Gorge T. Lovett. Arthur Lennon. John Wlim Gowland. and Cliff Aldred for driving without lights after sunset.
