STOCK AND PRODUCE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report that at the Durnam Yards heavy draught horses sold at from £28 to £37 10/; medium do., £18 13/ to £20; light harness, £10 10/ to £16 10/: weeds. £1 15/ to £3 10/. At the Newmarket lards on Tuesday there was an average muster of dairy and store stock yarded, aud a full muster of beef. Dairy cows sold at from £4 10/ to £7 5/; dry do., £2 10/ to £4 6/; calves, £1 11/ to £2 17/. Fat oxen sold up to 23/ per 1001b; cow, 19/ to 21/. Steers sold at from £C 10/ to £11----cows, £4 10/ to £7 7/8. The quality of beef, although no heavy weights were yarded, was extra good. Sheep: The Newmarket Yards were well filled on Tuesday, and for those of a good quality the demand was good, the late high rates ruling. Wethers sold at from 13/0 to £1 2/0; ewes 13/ Cto 18/6. Lambs, in full supply, sold at from 11/6 to 13/ S. Pigs were yarded In larger numbers than usual. Porkers sold at from 14/' to £2 3/; weaners. 8/6 to 10/. Hides: Market firm for all well-flayed lots. We quote: Prime os, 7fd to Sd; extra stout do., 6Jd to 7Jd ; stout do., 6Jd to 6id; medium do., 5Jd to 6d; light dot, 4Jd to Sid. Cow—Best lines, 42a; bulk. 41d; scored and cut, 3id to 4id; stags, 3Jd: kip, 3Jd to 44d. Calfskins, 4Jd to 5Jd; cut, 3Jd to 3Jd. Sheepskins: Market firmer. We quote -—Best butchers' pelts and lambs, 2/ to 2/4; country do., 1/0 to 2/1; damaged, Sd to 1/. Tallow: Best lines for tanners' use, 23/; best lines in shipment casks, 22/0; broken casks and packages, 20/ to 21/; seconds, 15/6 to 17/6. Rough fat, lid per lb. Horsehair, 1/2 to 1/2J lb. Cowtails, LS per dozen. "Wool, in bales and bags: Halfbred, 6d to 6Jd; crossbred, old to (id; cotts, 4Jd to 54d; pieces. 3d to 3Jd; locks, 2d to 2Jd; lambs, 5Jd to 6Jd. Maize: Market easier, and is now ruling at 2/5 on wharf. Oats: Market dull. Best lines worth IAOJ c.l.f. Chaff: No change to report. {Southern still selling freely. Potatoes: These have been in short supply, and prices are temporarily higher. Batter: Separator of real good quality selling readily, but poorer lines are quite neglected. Prices for latter, 6d to 6Jd; better sorts, 7d to Sd. Cheese: No change in prices to report.
