WAIHI, this*day. The question of the erection of municipal buildings will again be fought out next Council meeting. It will be remembered that \T_r Foster a motion giving precedence in the erection of abattoirs over municipal buildings was carried at the last meeting on the chairman's casting vote. Mr Katz now has tabled notice of motion to rescind that resolution, and he probably will have a majority to carry the same at next meeting. The fact of Mr Henderson's motion being carried, which gives the Council power to i-onduct works by contract, may result in the immediate erection of the buildings. The volunteer encampment in Worth's paddock broke up this morning. Lagt evenlag a concert was held under the auspices of the officers. Fully r>oo people were present. Vocal and other items contributed to the programme.
