ENOCH ARDEN, 1903.

A RE-UNITED COfPLB. (From Our Own Correspondent.) LONDON, December 24. A romance In hnmble life recalling Tennyson's "Rnoch Ardon" was unfolded at the West London Police Court a few days ago, when an attractive young woman was placed in the dock and charged with, bigamy. From the story of her romantic life tragedy to the Court it appears that the woman was married in June, 1801. to - a sailor named Kenny. After two years of wedded bliss the husband went on a lotrg voyage, and for several years she had no news of kirn. Finally in 1308 she learnt that the ship had been wrecked, and believing her husband to be dead she married again, her second partner being a tn-aster cooper employed in D-üblin. With him she lived in Ireland till April last, -when she discovered that her first husband was alive, having escaped from the shipwreck. Curiously enough, he. having been unable to find his wife on his return to England, had also married again and set np a new menage at Paddington, where his first wife found him. Her appearance on the scene led to unpleasantness for Kenny, who was promptly hs-uled to the Central Criminal Court on a charge of bigamy. The judge, how< ver, took a very lenient view of his offence and passed a nominal sentence of three days' imprisonment, which meant that he was released at once. His first wife forthwith joinr-d him in housekeeping-, and it wns whilst the re-united couple were spending their second honeymoon that at Feathersto-ne's instigation the charge of bigamy was preferred against the woman. The magistrate remanded the accused on bail, her surety being Kenny's "best man" at the wedding in 1891. He had also stood bail for* the husband when the- latter was charged; wfth, bigamy..
