The Hon. T. Y. Duncan, Minister for t Lands, arrived in Auckland from Wel- : lington yesterday,, having come overland ! from Stratford. The Minister is staying at the Star Hotel. He was occupied this i •morning in transacting departmental! ■ business with Mr. Marchant, surveyor- ■ J general, and Mr. Ritchie, of the Stock' • Department. On Monday morning at ; 10 o'clock the Minister meets a deputa- ' lion of timber-millers, with reference to L the regulations controlling the disposal ; of kauri timber. The Minister will leave 1 ior the north about Tuesday next, proceeding as far as Whangarei. He will be absent from Auckland for a week or ten days. f -
