LATE TELEGRAMS.
(By Telegraph.— Press Association.) RATA, this day. The passenger train from Mangjweka on the Main Trunk line was derailed v mile beyond Kata this morning by the van going off the line. This was due, it is considered, to the axle-box breaking. The engine, butter-van and two truckvvere in front of the carriage which broke it way. Four trucks and two double jia--enger cirriagf , -* were also derailed. j The gnarJV van remained on the line. ■ The rails v.ero !u;!Iy hent and torn up, j and tba ■ >ppcrs wefre smashed like: mVtehwooil for several chains. The passenger.-, , about a dozen in number, were taken on to Martoa in a butter waggon. A gang of men is repairing the lino. which is expected to be clear 10-night. A Dannevitke telegram today states j that ihe weather is again beautifully J toe, and the bush fii-es liave died do^.
