Another £1000 of the Auckland City debentures was taken up to-day. bringing up the total amount subscribed to £3900. Several inquiries have been made, and there is a good prospect of the whole issue of £10.000 being taken up. Samples of clothing suggested for the male inmates of the CosiJey Home were exhibited at the Charitable Aid Board this afternoon by Mr J. Court, on behalf of ihe sub-committee which had been set up to look into the matter, and it was moved by Mr J. Mc-Leod that tenders for the supp'y of .corduroy trousers, and white coats similar to sample. Mr Harris seconded ihe motion, and said that nine out of ten of the ratepayers were not clothed as well as the Board ..-a clothing tiie inmates.
