The "Pall Mall Gazette" says that, despite protests, Western Australia appears to be determined to curry the objectionable railway traffic and mining bills. The fact of" the Midland Railway Company's alleged breaches of contract not being dealt with directly by the Court or Parliament inclined one to believe that the allegations were exaggerated or unfounded. It was hoped for the sake of colonial credit means would be found to prevent an attempt to override, by side issues, a contract entered into by the Imperial Government.
