(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. resident secretary of the National Mutual Life Assurance Association, has received the following cable from Melbourne:—The thir-ty-fourth annual meeting was held today, when the annual report and balance sheet were adopted. The chairman congratulated the members on the splendid business done during the year. 8175 upolicies were issued, assuring £2,236,000, and yielding an annual revenue of £74,000. The amount of new policies shows an increase M over £500,000 on the previous year. The income for the year was £030,000. The total funds now amount to £3.674,000. A highly gratifying feature is the rate of interest" which averages £4 16/2 per cent., whilst the 'ratio of expenses of management is lower than last year, notwithstanding the increased volume of new business.
