WELLINGTON NOTES. m (By Telegraph,—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. Ironfounders and others interested in the establishment of sterilising works at Auckland will be interested to hear that matters have so far advanced as to x/t----xnit of tenders being invited shortly for the manufacture of certain plant which can be made in the colony, viz., boilers and digestors. The remainder of the plant will be imported from America, The objections raised to more than one site on which it -was proposed to erect the plant have been a stumbling block to operations not having been proceeded with at an earlier period. KAWTTTA RESERVES. A Parliamentary representative of a Canterbury constituency complained to the Land Department recently that in the throwing open of certain lands in Kawhia district, suitable provision had not been made for public reserves. His eyes have since been opened to the fact that the area set aside is more than is sufficient for the purpose. WELLINGTON TRAMWAYS. The material for the installation of the electrical tramways for the city is coming rapidly to hand by sailing vessels and direct liners. A number of vessels now in harbour have aboard plant for the power-house and other important items.
