SUCCESS OF AN AUCKLAND STUDENT.

Mr. R. W. Allen, of Auckland, has won the Gull studentship in pathology at Guy's Hospital.

[The career of Mr R. VF. Allen, of Auckland, has been a distinguished one. He was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, which he entered us a junior district scholar. Ho won a senior district scholarship, and in IS'J-1 a junior university scholarship. He then studied at the Auckland University College, where he m.?t with great success. He graduated B.A. in ISOB, and won the senior university scholarship in chemistry. In the following year he graduated M.A. with first-class honours in chemistry. Ho subsequently went to London and studied at Guy's Hospital for his medical degree. Ilia career there has upon extremely successful, and not long after he went there he won a valuable scholarship. Mr Allen's ninny Auckland friends will be very pleased to hear of his latest success.]
