LONDON, December 21. The Duchess of Connaught launched the battleship Hindustan, 'a sister ship to the Commonwealth, at Glasgow. The Earl of Selborne, First Lord of the Admiralty, in a speech at the launching, said the idea in building and naming the battleships of the King Edward type was to group round the sovereign the component parts of the Empire, beginning with Canada and Australia. which had done so much for Britain in the South African war. and passing on to New Zealand, that wonderful colony which had sent ten contingents to the front. The three final ships of the class would be named Africa, Hibernia and Britannica.
