HARBOUR BOARD.

A meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board was held this afternoon, and attended by Messrs. Julian (chairman), Napier, Mitchelson, Philson, Alison, Parker, Walker, Basley, and Bauine. Devonport Wharf Refreshment. Rooms.—The Works and Tariff Committee recommend that the engineer's suggestions for refreshment rooms, Devonport Ferry Jetty, be adopted; that Mrs Page have the use of refreshment rooms and custody of waiting rooms and lavatories for six months, rental 10/ per month terminable (within six months) by one month's notice on either side; that lavatories, etc, be subject to inspection by the officers of the Board; that Mrs Page be allowed to sell refreshments and also to charge for use of lavatories for ladies Id; that the solicitors be requested to prepare agreement in accordance with the foregoing resolutions; that the engineer be instructed to report in reference to water supply for latrines, Devonport Ferry Jetty.

Water Supply for Shipping.—The Works and Tariff Committee recommended: Tb_at notice be given to the City Council that it is the intention of this Board to supply water to shipping from wharves. That the water pipes now upon wharves belonging to the City Council be removed or purchased by the Board at a valuation. That the City Council be requested to inform the Board at what price water will be delivered by meter at the entrance to the various wharves belonging to the Board from which water is now supplied to shipping. That clause 3 of Works and Tariff Committee minutes, concerning charges for water, be deleted.

Admiral's House. — The Works and Tariff Committee recommended that the land and house known as Admiral's House be leased by public auction for a term of fourteen years; tenant to keep house in good ro•pair, and to paint with two coats of paint all outside and parts usually painted at least once in every five years; tenant to pay all taxes of every description leviable upon house or premises; upset rental to be at the rate of £300 per annum, payable quarterly in advance, if rental remain unpaid at due dates for over fourteen days Board may re-enter and distrain; plans of any alterations to be approved by the Board; Board will insure house; no re-instatement will be made if house totally destroyed by fire; outside of house to be painted with two coats of paint before occupation by tenant; all leaks in roof, etc., to be made good before leasing. Swimming Sports at Calliope Dock- — The* Auckland Swimming Olub wae granted the use of the Calliope Dock for a swimming carnival to-morrow in aid of the Veterans' Home Fund. /
