ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

GREYMOUTH, this day. A man named John Hughes, while driving in a trap, collided with a dray and was thrown out, receiving severe ivcuncjs and concussion of the brain. He was taken to the hospital, where he died this morning. He was one of the- oldest residents of the West Coast. A dredge hand named Gilroy, while working at the North Beach dredge today, got his hand fearfully mangled through it getting caught in the og wheels. It is hoped to save a portion of the hand. The accident was a very nasty one.
