HOTEL PROPRIETORS' UNION
v A meeting was held at three o'clcsk yesterday afternoon in the Federal Club, which was a thoroughly representative one of the licensed victuallers of Auckland. Mr James McLeod vas voted to the chair and explained that the idea was to reorganise the Licensed Victuallers' Association to cover the whole province, and register it' as a union. After the matter had been fully discussed, it was resolved on the motion of Mr M. Foley, seconded by Mr J. Endean, junr., that the Auckland Licensed Victuallers' Association be reorganised under the name of the Auckland Provincial Licensed Victuallers' Union of Employers, and that the same be registered under the provisions of the Conciliation and Arbitration Act of 1900 and amendments thereof. It was further resolved the Union should affiliate with the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association. Rules were submitted and approved, and the following officers were elected:—President, Jas. McLeod; vice-president, James Rolleston; secretary, Charles Grosvenor; committee, Messrs M. Foley, A. J. Tapper, J. Endean, junr., C. Clarke, and J. T. McHugh. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Messrs Rolleston, Tapper and Grosvenov for the valuable services rendered in connection with the formation of the Union, , . .. ~ ..
