VOLUNTEER NOTES.
"Very great success" was the general verdict of 150 guests of the "A" Battery's annual ball last evening in St. Benedict's Hall. The grand march was opened at 8 p.m., when Colonel Davics, C.8., and Mrs (Captain) Bosworth led off the procession. Marriage's band provided good music. The floor was all that could fop desired, and the decoiations were a credit to the committee, who spent a great deal of time at the work. The M.C.'s were Quartermaster-Sergt. Doull, Sergt.-Major Joues, Bombardier Stewart, Gunner McMillan, and Gunner Bennett. Dancing was kept up till 2 a.m. The officers present were:—Col. Davies, C.8.. O.C. District; Captain Bosworth, O.C. Field Artillery: Liout. Wall. R.N.Z.A.; Captain Bloomfleld, Ueuts. Hazard, Sherson, Carpenter. Hewson. Baragwanath, Spinley, Ewen, Shera, Dawson, Williams, Glassou, Ilowden, Hunter and Phair; SurgeonCaptains Neal and Carolan. Bombardier Macdonald proved a most efficient and energetic secretary.
