CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING,
The annual meeting of delegates to the Auckland Cricket Association was held last evening at the Amateur Sports Club, Mr Fred Earl presiding. There was a large attcmclance. The annual report congratulated _ the a'._»_ia___n on the interesting oricket witnesp _d in the majority of the championship competitions last season. The Auckland-era had failed to do themselves justice against the Englishmen. Bad fielding waa mainly, responsible for the visitors' easy win by an innings, and the batting was extremely d" -appointing. Tlie match against the Englisihim-en did not bring in sufficient to cover the £250 paid to tihe New Zealand Oricket Council. The amount lost over the match was £96 3/8, and the association's account was oveirdrawn £9 8/11During the season trophies were won by the following players:— Equitable _ Life Assurance Company's bat for highest aggregate in two inning,. F. R. Mason; Mr Brett's bat for baiting in firstgrade, B. Totman; Mr Brett's bat for bowling, fi-rat grade, (..'• 01 iff; Mr Roberts' bat for gmde. 2A, batting. F- Warren; Mr MieKinney's bat for grade 2A. bowling. J. Wakeir.ley; Messrs E. Porter and Co.'s bat for best all-round performance in remaining grades, R. Magee.
It was decided to register tire association undor _ite Unclassified .Societies Act.
The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—-President, Mr Fred Earl; vilee-pries''i.diehts, Messrs C. McKinney and C. W. Hennery; vice-presi-dent of the New Zealand Cricket Council, Mr Fred Earl; delegates to New Zealand Cricket Council, Messrs Bunby and Fowkes; lion. i_e_rota-ry, Mr 11. B. Lusk; treasurer, Mr C. Hay; Management Committee, Messrs F- Ohlson. ItA. -Miles, G. H. Plummer, R. Hay, R. H. Froude. D. Hay; auditors, Messrs Norman Williams and W. Dinnison.
It was deCi-ded that competitions be arranged for Wednesdays, and that matcthes be played on public holidays. The question of umpires wa.s left to the M'anagemienit CSommTrtt-i. to deal with. Ihe'chairman (Mr Earl) and Mr Hemery promised trophies for the incoming season.
