Mr McCarthy, S.M., gave judgment at Gore in a case against Mr George Whittingham, a brewer, for selling beer Avithiri the no-license district of Mataura, Defendant's license avus . issued after the passage of the statute authorising the carrying of no-license, and His Worship held -that it was subject to that contingency. Defendant Avas convicted and fined £5 and costs.
