Drunks and Disorderlies.—Six first offenders were dealt with, three being convicted and discharged, while two others were fined 5/ and 7/6 respectively, and another forfeited £ 1 bail. Margaret Wilkie, who had been convicted three times during six months, was fined £ 1 or a week's imprisonment. Thomas C. Bridges and Andrew Whittaker, who admitted having fought in Wakefield-street. were fined 10/ each. An Old Man's Admission.—John Hawker, an elderly man, who appeared to be very decrepit, pleaded guilty to stealing six pounds of meat, value 8/, the property of William Hector, at Newmarket. He said he had been drinking and was not responsible for his actions. There were two other charges of petty thefts against Hawker, but His Worship, remarking that he seemed to be still suffering from the effects of drink, remanded him until Friday. By-law Wood, Wilbam Hayson, and Charles Rush were summoned for depasturing horses on unenclosed places at Grey Lynn, and were discharged with a caution. A similar ccurse was taken with John Crabb, summoned for driving a vehicle on the footpath of Marine Square, Davonport. Alleged Theft of a Watch. —Edward Bailey, who was represented by Mr Reed, was remanded for a week on a charge of stealing a watch and chain, value £12, the property of Alexander B. Waldes, and also with illegally pawning it at Auckland, and obtaining £4 from the prosecutor by means of false pretences. He was allowed bail in two sureties of £25 each.
