Dr. McCarthy last night abandoned his rain-making experiments, and admitted that he was baffled. He states that he lost £#50 by the transaction,
Mr. O'Sullivan, N.S.W. Minister of Works, had a long conference with the leading townsmen and mine-owners. Many suggestions were made, which referred, among other things, to a Cabinet Minister promising that the Government would leave no stone unturned to overcome the difficulty..
