POLICE COURT—THIS DAY
(Before Mr P. B. Cheal, J.P., presiding, and Mr M. Bennett, J.P.)
The Drunkards. —Andrew Dodd was fined 5/ for being drunk on -the Great North-road,' and 40/ and costs for using obscene language upon the same occasion. Five lirst offenders were charged with drunkenness, four being fined 5/ each, while a woman was convicted and diecharged. Charges of Theft—Edwin Neteon Parrow, foreman at Messrs John Burns and Co., and VflUlam Thomas Worms, a carter, were charged with the theft of a quantity of white lead, linseed oil, varnish, and colour, the propert* of Messrs Burns and Co., valued at £10 5/6. Chief Detective Grace prosecuted, and asked'for a remand until Friday week. •, Mr Martin, who defended, asked for bail, and accused were remanded as desired, ball being allowed in two sureties of-J&a&^acbf"
