j The Hon. Hall-Jones and party loft I Piriaka on Monday morning at ei«ht J o'clock. From Piriaka to near Ohainn,, ! where the. majority of the men are now j working, a jrnod road one chain wide is I being formed through bush, ten miles being completed. The railway works are progressing rapidly beyond Piriaka. Three bridges -over the Ongaruhe .River are now completed, and ballasting down to Tauir.aruimi is being done with extraordinary speed. The contractor for the Wanganui bridge (Mr Scott. ■of Chri.stehurch) expects to have it completed by the end of September. Tha visit of the Minister is giving satisfaction all round, particularly as regards reduction of freight on foods, etc/ The Hon. W. Jennings loft the party at Ohanga, and proceeded to Olmra from Ongarulie for the purpose of seeing settlers about roads, bridges, etc.
