GOLF.
The final round of the Hargreayes medal competition, played at the Cornwall links on Saturday, was won by Mr 11. T. Gillies, who marie the fine score of 79. Mr Mair (lid not fulfil the promise of his first round, unfortunately for himself. The scores for both rounds were:—H. Gillies, April 18 2 down, April 25 6 up, result 4 up; J. Enras. 1 up, 3 down, 2 down; W. B. Colbeek. 2 down; 3 down; L. Mair, 2 up, G doAvn, 4 cLown; Dr. Coates, 4 down, 3 down. 7 down; W. W. Bruce, 2 down, 6 down, S down; \V. Heather. 7 down, 1 down, S clown; J. ILill. 9 down, 1 up, 8 down: E. W. I'ayton, 3 down, 8 down, 11 down; C. Pollen, 7 down, 7 down, 14 down; E. Ilorton, C down, 9 down, 15 down;" C. Tisdall, 11 down, 8 down, 19 down. There was a large attendance on the greens, among the visitors being His Excellency the Governor. The course was in excellent order, but worm casts in the putting greens caused some trouble.
