POLICE COURT—THIS DAY

Holiday Drunkenness.—The drunk list was remarkably small under the. circumstances, only five defendants being dealt with. One was lined 5/,\and the others were convicted and discharged.
Settled.—William Charles Shortcliffe, charged with threatening the life of his wife, was bound over by consent to keep the peace, and a prohibition order was issued against him.
A Deserter.—William John Clark, who admitted deserting from H.M.s. Archer, was ordered to be placed aboard H.M.s. Archer. By-law Oflences.— -Ernest Butcher was fined 5/ for riding a bicycle on the footpath on rhe New North road, Patrick Brady a similar amount for expectorating on the footpath in Symonds street, and Mrs. JS. Tripp 8/ for allowing a horse to stray in King stTest.
