The daily service between Ouehunga and New Plymouth to be discontinued on Monday : will be replaced by four trips per week each way. The Ngapuhi will leave Onehunga on Sundays and Wednesdays, and the Union Co.'s steamers on Mondays and Thursdays.

Chrysanthemum growers, whose efforts depend for success so largely on the weather, have cause to congratulate! themselves on the condition of the elements for some weeks -past. The blooms are now in excellent order. Growers of this favouvite flower are, annually increasing in number, and a brilliant display of the "beauties" at the ' Choral Hall to-morrow is assured. Mr 11. 0. Haselden, the secretary of the .Auckland Horticultural Society, has received no less than 104 entries, cud as some of these entries will comprise as many as 24 blooms each it may be expected that the show will be a record one in size as well as in quality. The dinner tabledecorations which have attracted so much attention at past shows will again ,be in evidence. A grqat display of 'dahlias, the chrysanthemum's rival for public favour, may also be expected, and the numerous other classes are likely to be. unusually well filled. The show will be formally opened at' two o'clock tomorrow afternoon by the Mayor of Auckland (Mr Alf. Kid'd, M.H.R.). Mr Arthur Carbine's orchestra will supply music in the evening, and afternoon tea will be provided on both days.
