The returns lor the corresponding period last year were: Entered inwards, 65 vessels of 125,454 tons, representing 47 steamers of 118,801 tons, and IS sailers of 6593 tons. The clearances were' 49 vessels of 77,724 tons, made up as follows: 35 steamers of 71.571 tons, and 14 sailers of 6153 tons. In addition to the above a return has been compiled showing that 3 steamers of 2301 tons entered from the Cook Islands, and 3 steamers of 2444 tons cleared for the Cook Islands, and 1 sailer of 149 tons for Niue.
