Drunkenness, —For this offened three offenders, who had not been; up for over six months, were each! fined 5/ with 24 hours in default, Charles White was fined 10/, with 48 hours in default, for being found drunk while dn charge of a horse and: cart at Epsom.

A Double Charge.—George White was charged with drunkenness and with using obscene language in Greystreet. After hearing evidence, His Worship imposed a fine of £5 with' one month's imprisonment in default.

An Old Soldier.—Henry Pearse, an old soldier, was charged with vagrancy at Parnell, and was discharged on his promising to go to the Salvation Army Home, the authorities of that home having consented to take him in. Theft. —A man named John Glen Murphy pleaded guilty to the Hheft of two -bottles of hop beer and a glass, total value lOd, from the shop of Edward Reisterer, in Karangahaperoad. Remanded.—-Albert Victor McAskie was charged that on December 30 he did forge the name of John Todd to money order telegram for £2, and did utter the same at the Auckland Post-office, On the application of Chief-Detective Grace a remand until to-morrow week was granted.
