CONTINENTAL CRIMES AND SENSATIONS.
GERMANY ARMY SCANDAXj.
The "Ostdeutsohe Volkszeltung" publishes a letter from a woman named Amalie Baltrusch, stating that last August, her husband, who was a gunner in an artillery regiment stationed at Gumbinnen, was treated in a frightful manner at the command of a sergeant, and then thrown out of a second storey window into a barrack yard. He died in consequence of the fall. Frau Baltrusch adds that her husband's commanding officer expressed his regret at the occurrence, promising that the guilty persons would be punished and that she would receive compensation, but up to the present time she has heard nothing more about it.
